Air conditioning fin problems

Air conditioning fins on exterior equipment can be damaged by children playing, lawn mowers, snow blowers or by people not paying attention.

When the fins are dirty, bent or damaged they do not transfer heat or cold as well as those in good condition that are clean.

When the weather permits (with power to the condenser OFF) spray a garden hose at the exterior coils to wash them clean.

Ever two years make sure the air conditioning system is cleaned by a professional who can and should clean the coil on the interior of the home. Most interior coils are too difficult for home owners to access.

Keep in mind metal fins and coils are easily damaged. The idea is to clean them and not to cause problems. Evaporator condenser radiator dirty damaged
